about ladycamos
As a former newspaper reporter, I have witnessed firsthand the vitriol and victory of politics, the effects of a downtrodden economy and the strength and resilience of a community. The experience was invaluable, but after about three years, two moves, one layoff and too many furlough days, I found myself burned out and I left the news for the more stable world of communications.
At one point in my career, I wrote a regular column about the sometimes ridiculous — but never mundane, I hope — happenings in my life. So until I snag a book deal, I’ll be blogging instead. Ever the optimist, I aim to find the silver lining even in the crappiest of situations, so check in regularly for my insights into growing up, moving on and the cheerful calamity that is my life.
Enjoy,
Catherine/ladycamos

Catherine,
I found you! I wondered where you’d gone. I hope you are doing well. It’s never easy to lose a job. In fact, it hurts like hell. Stay in touch, ok? You’re a terrific writer.
Be well, and thank you for all your kind words on my behalf.

Just discovered your blog and love it! I’m a journalist/blogger, too. Used to work in Tennessee and now in NC. Loved your post about your family trip – I would have screamed “Hey you guys!” :o) Good luck!
